Byron Bay Half-Day Surf Lesson (Oct–April)

Overview

Mojosurf runs the ultimate surf school in Byron Bay, and this is their bread and butter: the 8:30am half-day session that takes complete beginners and returns wave-riders in time for a late lunch. The format is smartly flexible, rather than defaulting to the nearest sand, they take you to whichever beach has the best learning waves that morning. Once there, you're suited up with a board and wetsuit, run through a quick stretch and beach lesson, and then it's into the water for three to four hours of actual surfing (travel, safety briefing and warm-up included in the window), with professional, fun instructors coaching you onto your feet. Pickup is included, all equipment is supplied, and it runs October through April when the water's at its friendliest. Their promise is simple: they'll have you up and riding in no time, and back in town for happy hour, with a story that's finally true.
