Overview

Agincourt Reef sits on the very outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, where the water runs clear and the coral is at its best, and Quicksilver has a full activity platform parked on it. That's the trick of this trip: the reef comes with infrastructure. The Wavepiercer gets you out from Port Douglas in comfort, then the pontoon is yours: snorkel straight off the platform with all gear provided and qualified lifeguards supervising, or stay bone-dry and still see everything from the semi-submersible and the underwater observatory. A marine biologist runs a reef presentation, morning and afternoon teas are served onboard, and lunch is a hot-and-cold tropical smorgasbord. It suits confident snorkellers and total water-avoiders in the same booking, genuinely rare for a reef trip. Note a small fuel surcharge is collected at check-in on the day.
