Overview

Uluru's base track hides its best details, waterholes, rock art, textures you can't see from the sunset car park, and a Segway covers them without the desert-heat slog. This five-hour tour glides you around the most scenic quarter of the base, with training beforehand and groups capped at ten per guide, so nobody's wobbling unattended. Off the wheels, the walking is chosen well: the Mutitjulu Waterhole, and the Mala Walk with its ancient Anangu rock art, both narrated with the cultural stories and geology that turn a big rock into a living place. Then the finale everyone's earned: sunset at the base of Uluru with sparkling wine and picnic nibbles, watching the rock burn through its colour chart. Transfers from Voyages Ayers Rock Resort are included; bring your park entry pass. No Segway experience needed, five minutes of training and you'll be gliding like you invented it.

"Such a fun experience! My daughter and I absolutely loved scooting around the base in this way! Walking is fun too, you get up close, but if you want to experience the circuit in a different way, this is a winner."

"Great way to start the day and to circumnavigate Uluru. The tour was informative with plenty of stops. Breakfast was pretty basic as you would expect. We're in our early sixties and had no problems with operating the Segway."
