Day-by-day itinerary

GULF OF THAILAND CAMBODIA Phnom Penh Days 1–2 Kampot Days 3–4 Koh Rong Sanloem Days 5–7 Siem Reap Days 8–10
Your route, day by day
1 Day 1 · Arrive in Phnom Penh

Arrive in Phnom Penh and meet your group and INTRO leader, settle in before your first night out together as the adventure begins.

2 Day 2 · Tuk tuk tour & Cambodian history

Today will start with a tuk tuk tour through the colourful, busy streets of Phnom Penh. We'll then pay a visit to two locations that played a pivotal role in Cambodia's sad and troubled history - the S21 Prison, and the Killing Fields. The stories and history you'll learn here will be difficult, however also necessary to understand Cambodia's past, including the brutal reign of the Khmer Rouge. This evening, dinner, drinks and a night out Phnom Penh style are on the agenda. 🌱 Small Change: Explore Cambodia's history on a profound level with a visit to S21 Prison and the Killing Fields.

3 Day 3 · Kayaking in Kampot

Swapping city streets for laid back country roads, today we'll travel to the peaceful countryside province of Kampot, our home for the next two nights. 🌱 Small Change: As we kayak, each group collects waste to keep rivers and mangroves clean.

4 Day 4 · Pepper plantation & cooking class

Fun fact - Kampot is famed for producing some of the best pepper in the world. We'll be putting that theory to the test this morning as we visit a pepper plantation.

5 Day 5 · Hello paradise

Never had Cambodia down as much of a beach destination? Just wait until you get to Koh Rong Sanloem. We'll travel by train and fast ferry to reach this paradisiacal island, where we'll be checking in to our island paradise accommodation that is owned by the Chief of the village! 🌱 Small Change: During our stay in Koh Rong, our groups will help protect the environment with regular beach clean ups.

6 Day 6 · Snorkelling adventure

It's all aboard a private long tail boat this morning as we head out to uncover some of the island's best snorkel spots. Expect to find yourself chilling out on secluded beaches, or exploring the colourful underwater world as you swim with tropical fish. This evening's sunset will be the perfect time to reflect on another ridiculously awesome day together.

7 Day 7 · Chill out & overnight bus

Waking up on our last day in Koh Rong Sanloem, we'll spend the morning relaxing on the beach. We'll then catch the ferry back to the mainland for dinner before boarding an overnight bus bound for Siem Reap. With fully reclining beds and air con, this is bus travelling in style.

8 Day 8 · Siem Reap & floating villages

Arrive in Siem Reap in the morning. From there we'll venture out to the rural areas and discover some traditional floating villages surrounded by lush rice fields, lotus flowers and flooded forests.

9 Day 9 · Angkor Wat

Saving the best for last, today's the day you'll get to cast eyes on the 8th Wonder of the World. Built in the first half of the 12th century, Angkor Wat is one of the oldest and largest temples in the world. We'll explore the site and learn the history with a local guide, and maybe even reenact our favourite Tomb Raider scenes as we visit Ta Prohm, a temple that featured in the movie. 🌱 Small Change: By sponsoring an APOPO Hero Rat, we are helping make Cambodian communities safer. These trained rats detect landmines, allowing teams to clear dangerous areas and protect lives. Today, we will visit Apopo to see the 'Hero Rats' in action.

10 Day 10 · Check out & onward travel

Your unforgettable 10 day adventure comes to an end today. Those flying home will make their way to the airport, or keep living the dream and extend your stay in Cambodia or South East Asia with our help and the new friends you've made.
