Overview

Group wine tours have one flaw: the group. TrailHopper's hop-on hop-off format deletes it, you get off at whichever winery calls to you, stay exactly as long as the wine deserves, and flag the next scheduled bus when you're ready to move. The Barossa has over 150 wineries and some of the oldest vines on Earth; your day, your shortlist. Two formats cover both personality types. The Self-Planned Day gives you transport between all trail stops and total freedom, you book your own tastings and lunch (Maggie Beer's shop and Lambert Estate's wood-fired pizza are popular anchors). The All-Inclusive Experience does the thinking for you: four preselected winery stops of about an hour each, with lunch and standard tastings organised. Either way you're tasting the region's full songbook, Barossa shiraz, Eden Valley riesling, grenache, mataro and old fortifieds, with pickup from the Adelaide CBD or the Barossa Visitor Centre. Independence, with a designated driver built in.

"Amazing value for money! We easily did 4 x 1hr stops and were fortunate enough to also get a brief stop for morning tea in Tanunda as we only had a small group. Thoroughly enjoyed our day and would highly recommend."
