Overview

The Barossa is Australia's most storied wine region, and this tour treats it accordingly, not a cellar-door pub crawl, but a properly curated day of the valley's best eating and drinking, in a small group capped at 20 with Adelaide hotel pickup at either end. It opens at Pindarie's multi-award-winning cellar door in Gomersal, morning tea, wine tastings and one of the region's great views. Free time on Tanunda's main street follows, then Mengler Hill Lookout serves the full Barossa panorama before the centrepiece: a gourmet two-course lunch with structured wine tasting at Lambert Estate in Angaston, where the food and the pours are built for each other. A guided tour and tasting at the grand Chateau Tanunda adds the history, and Maggie Beer's Farm Shop closes the day, leave luggage space for the pantry raid. It's the Barossa for people who take their lunch as seriously as their shiraz. Wear stretchy pants; thank yourself later.
