Mission Beach is a hammock-paced village where coconuts outnumber people, which makes it a deeply funny place to fall out of the sky at 200-odd km/h. It's also one of Australia's most famous drop zones, because the view on the way down is coast, reef and rainforest all at once. The jump runs to the full 15,000 feet, buying you up to 60 seconds of freefall before the canopy opens over that ridiculous coastline, and then the landing that makes this jump legendary: straight onto the sand at Mission Beach, weather permitting, beside the fallen coconuts. Professional training and instruction come first; gravity handles the rest.
