Overview

Queenstown looks good from town. From 1,528 metres up in the Remarkables, standing on an alpine landing site with the whole Wakatipu Basin arranged below you, it looks like a screensaver you're inside of. The Grand Circle is The Helicopter Line's signature loop: roughly 35 minutes tracking from the Shotover River's canyons out over Skippers Canyon and beyond Coronet Peak, with 360-degree views taking in Lake Wakatipu, Glenorchy, the ski slopes and the rural villages between. The alpine landing is the exclamation point, engines settle, you step out, and the air up there is a different product entirely. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, your pilot narrates throughout, and you'll fly in an AS350 Squirrel or the luxury Airbus H130. Leave the selfie stick behind (bags and sticks stay on the ground), your camera and your memory will manage.

"The flight experience was awesome. Got to land on the snow and get out the helicopter for pics and to look around us."

"Multiple free pick up / drop off points across Queenstown, so you are pretty much covered even if you don't drive. Briefing and the tour was conducted professionally, and they even take effort to swap the passengers around for the return journey so everyone gets a front seat or window seat at some point."
