The coach rolls out of The Shire's Rest through working Waikato farmland, the Kaimai Ranges filling the windows, then the hedge parts and you're standing in the Shire. Twelve acres of hobbit holes built into the Alexander family farm, and none of it is CGI. Your guide leads the full 2.5-hour loop: up the hill past Bag End's famous round door, inside the fully themed Bagshot Row hobbit home, with photo stops the whole way through.
