Some Whitsundays boats motor. Camira sails, an 85-foot ocean-going catamaran that harnesses the wind and turns the trip between stops into half the fun. When she leans into it, you'll get why sailors never shut up about it. The day is the Whitsundays' greatest hits: a guided walk up to the Hill Inlet lookout (tide permitting) for that swirling-sand view, real time on Whitehaven Beach, and snorkelling over the fringing reef. Between swims there's morning and afternoon tea, a generous BBQ lunch, soft drinks and water, and beer and wine flowing from 10am, because you're on holiday. It's nearly ten hours out of Port of Airlie, so this is a full-blown day, not a taster. One heads-up: the bus transfer to the port is booked separately.
