Overview

Bruny Island's southern coastline is Tasmania at full volume, sea cliffs among Australia's highest, seastacks like The Monument, and a slot in the rock that genuinely breathes as the swell moves through it. You see all of it from water level, which is the only way that does it justice. Departing Adventure Bay at 1:30pm, the custom-built wave-piercing vessel spends three hours working the cliffs, sliding into deep sea caves and narrow passages while your guide narrates the island's wild history. Keep watch for seals, dolphins, sea eagles, albatross and migrating whales in season, this coast is rich with them. Wet-weather jackets are provided, and there are ginger tablets onboard if the Southern Ocean gets lively. It's been voted Australia's Best Ecotourism Product four times, and it earns it. Self-drive to Adventure Bay, then let the boat do the rest.

"Small group size for a three hour boat trip around the stunning Tasmanian Peninsula but this was unlike any boat trip I've been on - I swear this was like jet boating on the ocean!! It was excellent fun, we saw dolphins, seals and albatross really close up, as well as stunning scenery."
