Every Bay of Islands visitor wants the same three things: the Hole in the Rock, an island to land on, and dolphins somewhere along the way. This cruise is built exactly around them, in a small-group format, maximum 22, that keeps it feeling like a day out on a mate's boat rather than a scheduled service. The route runs out past the bay's scattered islands to Cape Brett, where the lighthouse stands over the famous Hole in the Rock passage. Then it's back to Roberton Island for the stopover, swim, wander, or find a patch of sand and practise doing nothing. "We saw a whale and a green turtle along with seals and many many fish and birds. It was a smaller boat so was able to go into the cave next the the Hole but unfortunately we weren't able to go through the hole due to the swell."
