Overview

Rottnest from the ferry is nice. Rottnest from 10,000 feet, turquoise bays scalloped into white limestone, the whole island laid out like a map, is a different order of experience. And unlike the ferry, this route down includes 30 seconds of freefall at close to 200km/h. The day starts with a meeting and briefing at the island's airport, then a scenic flight over Wadjemup that doubles as your final look at the drop zone. Exit, freefall, canopy, and then a five-minute parachute descent with island views in every direction, finishing with a landing on the sand at Salmon Bay, Thomson Bay or Bickley Bay. Beach landings are rare in world skydiving; here it's the standard. Max three jumpers per load keeps it personal. Photo and video packages are add-ons, ferry to the island is separate, and there's a 15,000ft option, 66 seconds of freefall, the highest legal jump in Australia, if you want the full serving.
